Do you think ads make seniors more vulnerable to scams?

Do you think ads make seniors more vulnerable to scams?

I’ve noticed that ads aimed at seniors can sometimes feel very convincing, especially when they create a sense of urgency or promise an easy solution to a problem. But does seeing these ads actually make older people more vulnerable to scams, or is the bigger issue simply not knowing how to spot the warning signs? I’m curious what others think. Have you ever seen an ad that seemed harmless at first but later felt suspicious? Do you think ads make seniors more vulnerable to scams?

Targeted ads and misleading promotions can make older adults more vulnerable, especially when a message looks trustworthy. A familiar face, a tempting offer, or a sense of urgency may be enough to lower their guard. It’s worth staying alert and helping older family members double-check what they see online.
