Here's a guide on how to enable server browser and widescreen for Swat 4.

1. Go to this page and download the engine.dll file for 1.1 and TSS.

2. Go to your "SWAT 4\Content\System" folder and rename engine.dll to engine.dll.bak and copy the engine.dll you downloaded for 1.1 to this folder. Do the same thing for the engine.dll that is located in your "SWAT 4\ContentExpansion\System" folder that you downloaded for TSS.

3. To enable widescreen go to your "SWAT 4\Content\System" folder and open the file Swat4.ini in a text editor and find the line:

FullscreenViewportX=1920
FullscreenViewportY=1080

Input your native resolution like I have here and save the file. Now go to properties of Swat4.ini and make it read-only. Do the same for Swat4x.ini which you can find in your "SWAT 4\ContentExpansion\System" folder.

4. To remove intro movies click properties on Swat 4 and Swat 4 The Stretchkov Syndicate icons on your desktop and add -nointro at the end of the target line.

e.g.

"D:\GOG Games\SWAT 4\Content\System\Swat4.exe" -nointro

You should now get a warning when you launch and close the game that says "failed to write...", this is normal. Just hit ok and proceed as usual. If you did everything correctly the game should now be in the resolution you specified and when you click Internet on the Join Game page you should see servers.

Aaaah, I love SWAT4. Bought it three times (Disc, Direct2Drive, GOG). I haven't played the multiplayer with the GOG version, yet. Might have to try this.

Multiplayer support for Swat 4 was discontinued some time ago, but some smart people have found ways around it. First of all you can get Swat 4 Gold at https://www.gog.com/game/swat_4_gold_edition. It includes The Stetchkov Syndicate expansion. To play online go here http://www.moddb.com/games/swat-4/downl … lternative and download the program which doesn't mess with any game files. The community doesn't seem to be super active, so only count on people being online during eavenings and weekends.

EDIT: So apparently you can just got to https://swat4stats.com/servers/ and copy the IP address and paste it in-game. And there's a lot more activity on these servers too.
